Avholmsberget – Just don’t miss it!
Often mentioned as Hälsingland’s most beautiful view. Avholmsberget is located right next to the village of Hästnäs but is easiest reached by car due to the steep elevation. Eat or have a coffee at Avholmsberget’s restaurant and enjoy a striking view of the Dellensjöarna lakes and the surrounding area. The restaurant is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00
You can also grill your own lunch as there is a barbecue area.
The popular Kraterstigen hiking trail, approximately 4.5 km long, also starts from Avholmsberget.
Bjuråkers forngård – A journey back in time.
A genuine working life museum that was inaugurated in 1953. Here you can walk between several older buildings, such as a parish cottage, a bakery, a church cottage, haylofts and dance lodges. Most of the buildings have been donated and moved to the historical site from various villages in Bjuråker.
The historic Bjuråker Spelmansstämma (Folk music festival) is also celebrated here on the third Sunday in July, which brings together fiddlers from all over Sweden for a music-filled party. The historical site has a café where the popular Hälsinge cheese cake is served and homemade fika bread.
Movikens Masugn – A piece of authentic Swedish industrial history.
The blast furnace was put into use in 1797, but now functions as a museum with its magnificent premises that show how pig iron was manufactured during the iron ore era in Bjuråker. Guided tours and coffee sales are offered.
Fönebo – “Bjuråker’s Riviera”
A long, family-friendly sandy beach that lives up to its nickname. With a restaurant and café, SUP board and paddle boat rentals, Fönebo is one of the most popular beaches around Dellen.
Gulåsen – A magnificent view of both Dellen lakes awaits those who find their way here.
Gulåsen is located about 6 km from Fönebo, the road up ends with a turnaround and the last stretch ahead consists of a 500-meter scenic walk. A rest area with benches for bringing your own coffee is available at the site.

The two lakes lakes of Dellen – Facts and legend
The lakes of Dellen were formed after a kilometer-sized meteorite hit here about 90 million years ago. In a few seconds, the meteorite’s kinetic energy was converted into heat through an enormous explosion.
It was in this colossal explosion that Hälsingland’s landscape stone, the black Dellenite, was formed.
According to old legend, it was actually a wondrous troll who was behind the formation of the Dellen lakes.
It was the sound of church bells that woke the troll from its slumber in a cave at the top of Avholmsberget, and in a rage tantrum the troll threw large boulders down at the church and its ringing church bells in an attempt to silence it.
But he is said to have missed the church, and by accident formed the Dellen lakes instead!
